53 percent oppose Prop 19

Ipsos reported than an October 2-4 Reuters poll of California voters found that 53% oppose Prop 19. A PDF of detailed tables (right click save as) is available. The table shows that of the 600 people polled, roughly 53% said they will vote against Prop 19, and 45% said they will vote in favor of Prop 19.

Support:

• Democrats were 53% in favor
• Blacks were 53% in favor
• Males were 51% in favor
• Registered Democrats were 50% in favor
• Whites were nearly 50% in favor
• Independents were 49% in favor
• People in the Bay Area were about even

Oppose:

• Hispanics were 70% opposed
• People with a high school education or lower were 66% opposed
• Republicans were 65% opposed
• Registered Republicans were 64% opposed
• People 55+ were 60% opposed
• People in the Coastal region were 58% opposed
• Females were 57% opposed
• Asians were 57% opposed
• People in the LA region were 56% opposed
